Description

Peruvians have been mobilizing in a political and social crisis triggered by the ouster of President Pedro Castillo in late 2022. Responses by the de factogovernment to protests and calls for a new constitution have left at least 55 dead and many more injured or detained, leading to increasing critical attentionacross Latin America and the world. This hybrid roundtable discussion brings together scholars and activists from across the Americas with the aim of betterunderstanding the events, stakes, and likely outcomes of the situation in Peru.
