We are delighted to announce the creation of the Colonialism and Empire Working Group (CEWG), an interdisciplinary workshop organized by faculty from the Sociology Department and the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies. The CEWG brings together scholars of colonialism and imperialism working in a variety of academic disciplines, including sociology, history and sociolegal studies.

Each meeting will feature one author or presenter and a discussant. Papers will be pre-circulated to the group. The discussant will offer brief prepared remarks about the work. The rest of the session will be devoted to discussion of the work and related themes.
