Biography

W. Chris Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Women and Gender Studies Institute and the Department of History at the University of Toronto. An interdisciplinary writer and scholar of black diasporas, his current research and teaching interests orbit themes of black feminisms and black freedom in the 20th and 21st centuries. Chris is currently completing a book that explores the gender and sexual politics of black liberation, and the adhesives of migration, kinship, and desire that tenuously bound collectives of revolutionaries who lived, struggled, organized, and loved around the Atlantic world.
