Safia Aidid recognized by the Faculty of Arts & Science with Outstanding Teaching Award

Assistant Professor Safia Aidid (Cross-Appointments: African Studies Centre, New College), has been awarded a Faculty of Arts & Science Outstanding Teaching Award Early Career (2025–26), recognizing her contributions to teaching and mentorship. The award will be formally presented at a ceremony in June, after which recipients will be featured on the Faculty of Arts & Science News website.

Reflecting on the recognition, Professor Aidid shared: “Teaching African History is a responsibility I take seriously and approach with care, so this recognition means a lot to me. I’m grateful to be part of History and African Studies, where teaching is deeply valued and where I learn so much from my colleagues.”
