Sarah Hannon (they/them) is a PhD student in the department of History. Their doctoral research concerns the emancipation process in Bermuda with a focus on rhetorical strategies deployed by the Bermuda House of Assembly in negotiating amelioration and emancipation. Their work also considers Black community in post-emancipation Bermuda and local response to the 1835 arrival of the American slave ship Enterprise.
