Biography : 

Divyani is a PhD student at the Department of History, and in a collaborative program with the Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies. Her research explores the connected transnational histories of religion, space, and power, in South Asia and North America. She further investigates how ethno-nationalist movements shape and reflect the fractures and myths of modern multicultural nation-states and liberal post-colonial democracies.
She is part of the Jamhoor collective, a left media organisation based in Toronto focusing on South Asia and the South Asian diaspora in North America; and Vice-President of the Indian Graduate Student Association at UofT.
