Professor William Nelson of the Department of Historical and Cultural Studies at UTSC has been longlisted for the prestigious Notting Hill Editions Essay Prize. His essay, “Five Ways of Being a Painting”, brings together texts and images to examine “the ways that people have used paintings to think about the experience of estrangement.” The Notting Hill Editions Essay Prize aims to "reinvigorate the art of the essay."
Professor Nelson has also been invited to be a 2018 Visiting Professor at the Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, France.
Congratulations to Professor Nelson on these well-deserved recognitions! Read more about Professor Nelson's essay in U of T News.
