Our Leaving Ladies: Canadian Actresses Starring on World Stages from the 1840s to 1940s

This free event is the opening of an exhibit curated by Professor Cecilia Morgan, who holds a cross appointment to the Department of History.  The exhibit examines the transnational and transatlantic careers of a number of Canadian actresses, 1840-1940, and places Canada within the wider world of transnational theatrical networks.   It is co-sponsored by Theatre Museum Canada and by Cecilia Morgan's SSHRC grant for her project on Canadian actresses and transnational mobility.  The event will feature two curators' tours of the exhibit; there will be food and a cash bar.
