Description

This public lecture examines the historical and economic foundations of the gender dysphoria diagnosis and its role in shaping contemporary transgender medicine. Focusing on the model developed at Stanford University in the 1970s, the talk traces how medical transition was liberalized while costs were shifted onto patients, entrenching a lasting class divide in access to care.
