Toronto Workers' History Project: Feminism and Labour

Description

In honour of International Women's Day, the Toronto Workers' History Project invites you to look back over four decades of the struggles of Toronto's working women. In the 1970s, women began to challenge male unionists to take them seriously. They formed their own organizations and committees within the labour movement and eventually reshaped the agenda of their unions. Three activists will bring stories of their own experience, and one speaker will introduce us to the fascinating new website on the history of feminism in Canada.
